Born in Nairobi, Kenya Vina came to UK in 1968. Since a young age she has been very passionate about Indian dance. Kathak training started with Nilima Devi then many experiences short and long term training with Sujatas Banerjee, shrimati Kumudini Lakhiya, Pandit Birju Maharajji, Saswati Sen, shrimati Maya Rao, Vijay Shankarji. 1996 started *Manushi Dance Company. As a Artistic Director of the company, Vina has trained and staged many dancers.
Founded by Vina Ladwa in 1996, Manushi Dance is a community based dance company in Nottingham, dedicated to presenting, teaching, and sharing the beauty of Kathak, the classical dance from North India.
Performances at festivals, melas, and cultural events across East Midlands. .
Workshops & classes in schools, community groups, and day centres.
Creative wellbeing projects with older people, people with dementia, wheelchair users, and terminally ill patients.
